Introduction to RFID in logistics

The course provides basic introduction to RFID-technology used in logistics. RFID technology has many advantages compared to traditional bar codes: The product needs not be within sight, RFID can be read at long range and multiple units and groups can be read simultaneously. RFID has a significantly higher data capacity, and thus it is possible to identify individual items at a greater level of detail. An RFID application could revolutionize the transparency of the supply chain, reduce shrinkage and increase the opportunity for the right amount of goods at the right time in relation to customers.
